Hello! I’m so excited that my new album Fleeting Adventure is out now.

Thank you so much to everyone who has already listened, shared, written about it, played it – it’s quite overwhelming and greatly appreciated!

Infinite thanks to everyone involved, including: Mistletone and Basin Rock for the time energy and investment in releasing this music; Chuck Johnson for mixing the album and playing pedal steel on Correlation; Lawrence English for mastering for LP and CD/digital – and for being a truly generous listener in all senses; Aidan Hogg and The Plutonium for invaluable assistance tracking some of the banjo and acoustic guitar with some fancy microphones and knowledge; George Gillies for the incredible artwork; Naomi Lee Beveridge for taking some absolutely joyous promo photos; the financial support of Arts Queensland and Bleach* Festival and finally but so importantly, the all-star cast of musicians who played on the album: Aurélie Ferrière, Chuck Johnson, Claire Deak, Conrado Isasa, Darren Cross, Flora Wong, Joe Saxby, Josh Kimbrough, Luke Cuerel, Luke Schneider, Michael A. Muller, Spencer Grady, Stephen Lewis, Steve Gunn, Tony Dupe.

Have a listen via your preferred method and/or watch one of the videos and/or tell me what you think!

For anyone in Victoria next weekend, I’m incredibly excited to be launching the album at a special show at Melbourne Recital Centre, supported by the wonderful Cold Hands Warm Heart. Tickets for this limited-capacity, audio/video show are available here. I’ll also be popping up the highway to the delightful Tanswells Hotel in Beechworth the night after.

I’m also very excited to be doing the Sydney album launch at Phoenix Central Park – a mindboggling venue – as part of their Season V. September 22, two shows (6:30pm and 8:15pm), tickets free via ballot. Brisbane… pop Sunday 4th September in the diary – more soon but it’s definitely worth the date claim…

New Breakfast Habit video – directed by M.C Schmidt

Ding dong! Incredibly pleased to share New Breakfast Habit, another new song that’ll be on my forthcoming album Fleeting Adventure (released July 29, 2022 on LP, CD and digital formats via two wonderful labels, Mistletone and Basin Rock).

New Breakfast Habit features wonderful contributions from my friends Darren Cross (solo, D.C Cross, Gerling) on acoustic guitar and Luke Schneider (solo, William Tyler, Orville Peck) on pedal steel. Mixed by Chuck Johnson and mastered by Lawrence English; with additional engineering by Aidan Hogg and artwork/graphic design by George Gillies.

I’m also absolutely honoured to have had M.C Schmidt of Matmos create the beautiful video you can see above – or here – it really blows me away.

Album pre-orders are now available via both label webstores, Bandcamp and through lots of great independent record stores. Overnight… also can be listened to from today, 23rd June, on all the DSPs.

I’m absolutely delighted to announce that I’ll be releasing a new album – Fleeting Adventure – on July 29, 2022. It will be available on LP, CD and digital formats via two wonderful labels, Mistletone (AUS/NZ) and Basin Rock (EU/UK/ROW).

Fleeting Adventure is my fifth solo album, an album in which I created musical ideas loosely based around navigating the aftermaths and interregnums of a restless new decade; but also reaching towards new ideas about life, love, health, loss, and luck.

I can’t wait for everyone to hear the whole thing, but in the meantime, there’s a new ‘single’ out today – 12th April!

Overnight’s A Weekend is the first song on the album, the first song written for it, and still one of my favourites. I’m joined on it by my friends Steve Gunn (electric guitar), Joe Saxby (aka These Guy, saxophone), Michael A. Muller (of Balmorhea, electric guitar and electronics) and Aurelie Ferriere (violin).

Overnight… as with the whole album was mixed by Chuck Johnson and mastered by Lawrence English; with additional engineering by Aidan Hogg and artwork/graphic design by George Gillies.

Album pre-orders (including Overnight’s A Weekend and Correlation) are now available via both label stores, Bandcamp and through lots of great independent record stores. Overnight… also can be listened to from today, 12th April, on all the DSPs.
