Firstly, thanks so much to everyone who made my European visit so spectacular. First and foremost to the wonderful staff at EMS Elektronmusikstudion in Stockholm for their friendliness and amazing studio – and to Australia Council for the Arts and Arts Queensland for their funding assistance. Also a massive thanks to everyone who made my shows in Lausanne, London, Berlin, Basel and Milan so enjoyable. Hope to be back in late 2016/early 2017?
A bit of other news as well…
In April I sat down with Stu Buchanan (New Weird Australia, W00d & Wire, Provenance) for an interview for Stu’s Out From Under program on Resonance Extra. Details on the interview and a mix of new music are below. The interview and Transitory Adaptations mix are available here.
“In this episode of Out From Under Andrew discusses the inherent tension in his work and his relationship with his home city of Brisbane. In the second half, we hear an exclusive new recording from Andrew, titled Transitory Adaptations – a mixtape of edited improvisations created while on the road in Europe, recorded in hotel rooms in Lausanne and Berlin and on a train from Berlin to Basel in April 2016.”
As for other happenings, there’s some intermittent live performances coming up in Australia. I’m playing at Monash University of Modern Art (MUMA) in Melbourne on 18 June, with the wonderful John Chantler. More info here. A free, afternoon show – how delightfully civilised!
I’m also playing my first hometown Brisbane show for ages in July, supporting Jason Lescalleet (USA). Keep an eye out on the performances page for more info. Won’t be doing too many Brisbane shows this year so this one is one to look out for.
